Enhancing Student Development through the Power of Music: OVPAA and OSDS Launches Hamon ng Himig Program 2024 (Batch 1)

The ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Office of the President, Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) – Office of Student Development Service (OSDS), in partnership with the College of Music, is set to launch a music tutoring program entitled “Hamon ng Himig.” This pioneering initiative aims to not only enhance students’ musical skills but also support their mental health, overall well-being, and holistic development. Recognizing the remarkable ability of music to transcend cultural, linguistic, and social barriers. This project aspires to create a deep emotional resonance and forge connections that go beyond mere words.

Through meticulous planning, this groundbreaking musical initiative has been carefully designed to unlock the potential of music in the academic community. It also fosters personal growth and well-being among students. It strives to establish a harmonious environment where diverse voices can unite in a collective musical exploration. By intertwining the universality of music with targeted tutoring efforts, the program aims to nurture musical talents while providing students with a platform to enhance their mental health, well-being, and overall personal growth. This integrated approach envisions a transformative experience where the language of music becomes a tool for both artistic expression and the cultivation of a balanced and resilient student body within the academic community.
